100th Anniversary Challenge - We have a lot planned already. This year is the 100th anniversary of Scouting in Canada and each Pack is encouraged to set a goal of doing 100 of something special. We decided that this year, we are going to have each of our Cubs focus on knots. Each month will introduce a new knot, which we’ll tie at every meeting, cumulatively until the end of the program year. September is “Reef-Knot” month.
October will be Clove Hitch month, when we’ll tie the new knot and the old knot - at every meeting. By the time we finish our meetings in May, everyone will know 9 knots by heart – inside, outside, backwards, blindfolded (including the Scouters). Multiply 15 Cubs times 9 knots is 135 new skills, which will easily beat our 100 Anniversary Challenge! (and each Cub will get a special Manitoba Council “100” achievement badge)
