Section Leaders (Scouters):
Meeting time and place: The 4th Winnipeg Scouts meet on Monday from 7:00 to 9pm in the John Tyler Hall at 27 Overton Street (Glenwood Community Center)
Scouts is a program designed for youth 11 to 14 years of age, with an option to continue in the section until their 16th birthday. Many of the Scout activities place emphasis on living and playing outdoors - in harmony with nature and the environment. Hiking, camping, games, exploring, summer and winter sports comprise the principal activities of Scouts. Indoor activities are designed to help the youth acquire the necessary skills for successful activities outdoors.
Through participation in these programs, Scouts can earn Achievement Badges which focus on outdoors, citizenship, service and personal development. A number of Challenge Badges allow Scouts to pursue their own interests and hobbies and be recognized for their accomplishments.
All of these activities are designed to help the Scout develop an appreciation of nature, gain leadership skills, become self-reliant and confident and to encourage mental, physical, social and spiritual development.
